Janna Urschel

I am a writer, mother of two, and a seeker after ways to be in the world that are just, passionate, and compassionate. I aspire to change the way we see ourselves in relation to the others around us and within us – biological, geological, chemical, and historical – through the stories we tell.

My home base is in Laramie, Wyoming, where I live with my husband, daughters, dogs, rats, fish, and horse. I serve on the board for Mountain Shadows Equine Revival, a small-scale horse rescue with a big impact, and I am currently at work on a PhD in Creative Writing focusing on the nonhuman agency of salt, among other projects.
